Hello! I have a 2 tb external hard drive that I use to store all my files on it (pics, videos, .dmg, etc). So I routinely access it as much as my computer. I have learned the hard way in the past you need a back up of your back up.

So I would like to (about once a month or so) back up my external to another external. But I don't need to access documents I have deleted by mistake or anything along those lines that time machine is great for. I just want it to basically overwrite any changes made. I don't need extra space taken up to go back and access past files.

By "overwrite changes" I mean recognize when a file has been moved to another folder, delete deleted files, change names of file names, but not have to format my entire 2 tb hard drive every time to do this.

I make a lot of changes on a routine basis. There's no way I can remember the changes I make over x amount of time. Am I asking for too much? Is there another program with these capabilities? Is there another option you can think of? Thanks for your help!!

You're awesome! I didn't look into Carbon Copy Cloner, I thought the program was just for bootable copies of your hard drive. I gave it a shot and it does exactly what I was looking for and more. Thanks! :D
