At work I am using hand sanitizer often.

I currently have two fake leather cases I currently cycle between, and when one becomes too sticky with sanitizer residue I rub in some hand soap by hand, rinse thoroughly, and leave it to air dry. Works like a charm

Can I wash an Apple leather iPhone case in the same way? Rub in hand soap, rinse, air dry?

Apple’s suggestion is using a clean cloth with warm water and mild hand soap but I’m not sure how aggressive I can get with it, because rather than a spot cleaning I like to do a thorough scrub.

Thanks

I've never seen anyone use hand soap on the apple leather, so not sure it'll work. When I had one awhile ago, I would use leather cleaner and deep leather conditioner. Help with scratches and helps keep the "new" leather look to it

Use a case at work that won't be ruined by cleaning, then swap cases when you want to play dress-up.
If you're that concerned about germs, get a case that will take a cleaning better than a "fake leather" surface.
The right tool for the right job!

Water and soap is a big no no.

Leather cleaner and a leather milk/balm to coat after work a treat.

You can pick up both, cheap, if you look at car cleaning products n
