can i work cyber security with macOS?

I'm thinking of buying a Macbook. Does anyone have experience in this field or use macOS?

Plenty of (most in my experience) security pros use MacOS. You might want an intel machine so you can run fusion etc, depending on what kind of work you do.

Yes you can, and an M1 / other ARM machine is fine too,
plenty of security focussed distros have ARM VM's available to run.

Yes it just depends what you are doing. I’d go intel if i was into forensics or especially malware analysis. Unless you were focused on M1 or ARM malware…
