Those show up as "stripes" across the all-day (top) section in iCal and on the iPhone in landscape view. "Week Calendar" for iPhone gives a few different views of the calendar.

Have you tried entering it in a new event in iCal like that? 2. You have a meeting with Dave on May 7, May 8, and May 9 from 13:30 to 15:00. That would be a recurring event.
