can ipad 2 camera be used with skype?

my wife wants one of the new ipad 2 but we cant find out if the webcam will only work with facetime or if it can be used as a normal webcam with apps such as skype,msn messenger,yahoo messenger..etc...can someone please tell us 🙂

also is the uk prices confirmed for ipad 2 ive asked in stores but they say they dont know ive had prices range from £429 all the way up too £529 !!!

The iPhone 4 camera can be used for Skype, so I don't see why not. There is no Skype app for the iPad yet though.

so hows the video on skype is it clear and smooth ?also hows the hd rear camera in ipad 2 can that also be used when chatting?and when chatting can you use a bluetooth headset or do you have to use the inbuilt mic?thanks

Yes, it works good on skype but id hold off until they update the skype software to an ipad version.
