yes, that's the only one that works, you need the 3.0 oneUpdated to iOS13, tried to connect the ipad to external harddisk via 3rd party cables & adapter. No luck
Should i try the lightning to USB camera adapter by Apple?

No, it means USB 3.0 adapter (the one with a lightning port, there is no USB C port for the mini). There is also a USB 2.0 one, which is smaller and cheaper but won't work with external drives. You need to plug the lightning cable into that port to power the adapter and your drive into the USB A port.3.0 means the one with 3 ports (an extra usb-c port), right?!
Yes, that one has a USB-A port and a Lightning port. However, that Lightning port only powers the iOS device, it does not power the USB device that is plugged into it. It is designed to power/charge your iOS device while still having a USB-A device plugged into the iOS device. This one?!
Yes, because before IpadOS drives did not work, but it's the same adapterThat's for a camera.
Yes, depending on the drive it may not work with the mini. E.g. mechanical hard drive or some internal SSDs with external enclosures may not work. They will only work with ipad pros (all, including the first gen, except the 9.7 pro)Yes, that one has a USB-A port and a Lightning port. If you have an iPAd Air 3, like I have, then that adapter isn’t going to be much good to you.
The iPad Pro can handle that adapter with a wider variety of USB external drives, but it will still run into the “Low power” wall on some drives. You need an externally powered hub.
Personally I tend to avoid these as they need to be used as an in-between your router and your ipad and tend to slow down fast internet speed for everything else (unless you connect and disconnect every time, which is ha hassle...)You can also get a Ravpower Filehub that does the same thing, but is wireless.
