I sync my iPhone to my mac at home. I'm wondering if I might still be able to download and install the 3.0 while I'm at work today or if I must wait until I'm back at home to download 3.0 and sync from the copy of iTunes that I normally use.

thanks!

I've installed many updates from work all the way back from 2.0 to 3.0 GM as soon as it was released on the dev site

I've done it both ways. If you wipe it you lose your music and apps. But as long as your online with iTunes you can still activate the phone.

You can also do an upgrade which doesn't wipe anything.
