For occasions when wanting to listen to music with someone else from my iPhone I've normally done the headphone jack splitter route, connecting 2 cable earphones to my iPhone.

Now that the time is approaching where I'll be switching to the iPhone 7, or upcoming iPhone X Edition, I am left wondering if 2 Bluetooth capable earphones or headphones can listen to music simultaneously at the same time.

It is possible with the Bose QC35, there is a "split-mode" where you connect 2 BT earphones to the same iPhone/iPad. I do not know if more models of Bose have this split mode.

It's something that is standard in Bluetooth 5, which I expect will be in this year's iPhones.
