Can iPod Touch 2g and 3G be upgraded to 4.1?

I have 2 devices iPod itouch 2g 32GB using 3.0 and a 3G 64GB using 3.12.

If I upgrade using Apple to 4.1 can I Jailbreak it using limera1n? Do I need to save the SHSH Blobs first? Thanks

I backed up my blobs before hand just in case, but am about to do so nevertheless with greenpoinson on Mac. Hope it works, here goes.

Didn't even ask for my blobs or anything like that.

Straight forward. Restored from 4.0 to 4.1 in iTunes, then opened greenpoinson, did its thing and here we are!
