the seb,

Many thanks.:) I know windows would be good but I'm really fed up. and I just want an apple ..lol

Currently, I've a Fujitsu Laptop with

4 GB RAM
i3 2.4
ATI mobility Radeon 550V 1GB (Cinebench OpenGL : 20)

but even that takes like forever to render.
Task manager says CPU usage : 100%
Ram usage : 70%

and even for small image it takes around 60 mins to render!

I think I'll go with the 15'' MBP Base model. And later after an year when I start working I'll get a better one. I think base should be fine as it is quad core and ram can be upgraded.

The Kev,

Desktop won't be suitable, because I'm an international student and I keep moving. And we need laptop for Uni as well, and I can't afford both a lap and a desktop. so! But thank you very much for your help:) I think 15'' will be fine!:)

Really impressed by all your answers, I thought it's an Air forum, so the answers would be biased towards the air side..lol

Mayo 7,

Great! Can you please try it... I've a model and I can send it. Can I've your mail id?
Sketch up is free and download the version 8 ..latest.
And for rendering what software/ plugin do you use?

i sent you a message with my email.

for rendering, i use a program called Keyshot, but I would say it's much more product design oriented. I don't think it's an ideal program for rendering interior environments.
