Can MacBook Pro (2021) use my old MagSafe2 power adapter

Can I charge the new MacBook Pro (2021) using my old MagSafe2 power adapter (belongs to my old macbook from 2015)?
It would be nice because then I do not have to carry a power adapter when I alternate work place.

I sure hope so. I have accumulated 3 of these cords over the years. Still use them with my 2012 MBP. I will be purchasing a new MBP probably in January after some the initial dust settles. Of course my need for those extension chords will be less with a laptop with great battery life. My 2012 has to be plugged in all the time since the battery is shot.

I don't think so. Maybe there is an Magsafe2 to 3 adapter? There was one from 1 to 2.

Looking at the MagSafe2 on my 2015 MacBook Pro, it doesn't look like it would fit the new ones.

I do have the MagSafe 1 - to - MagSafe 2 adapter, works very well when I want to charge from an older Apple MagSafe charger.

I, too, would like to see a new adapter released...

I really liked the L-shaped MS1 plug, hopefully someone will make an L-shaped MS3 cable.

Wouldn’t hold your breath: when MagSafe2 came out, Apple were still actually selling Thunderbolt 1 and Cinema displays with captive MagSafe 1 plugs, so they kinda had to make an adapter.

Today, they haven’t sold anything with MagSafe 2 for years (and the last ones were for Airs so they’re not beefy enough for MBPs)
