Anyone had the microdots result in permanent marks on their iPhone, particularly glass backed phones?

What case/phone? Did you leave the phone in for a long time without removing it to periodically clean it?

Now I'm worried about my microdot Peel case on my 8.

I clean my iPhone couple times a week. The back glass is an absolute scratch magnet.

The oleophobic coating can be worn away by the inside of cases, pockets, fingers and just about anything that consistently rubs in the same spot. Also, the iPhone X has the weakest oleophobic coating of any iPhone I ever had. That said, Im super skeptical of phone cases with textures and covers over the main screen. This is dangerous for coating wear, esp if you keep your phone in your pocket

I decided to pick up a fresh Peel/Tozo frosted/matte case like I had before the clear Peel one and took the clear Peel one off just to be safe. No dot marks at all (nor were they expected being on the phone for 24 hours but you never know). No point taking the chance.

You’re still going to get scratches. The back glass is a scratch magnet.

I’m curious about this as well. I have a couple of pretty nice cases but they have dots and I don’t want them to leave marks
