As in, is there some method by which I can query my Airport Extreme to determine what happened when my Mac loses the ability to surf the web (trying to load a page results in a bit of "looking...." in browser that eventually corrects itself)

I am trying to determine if the Mac is just losing its mind or my internet provider is dropping the ball. I was hoping the APE would record such events..

You can try pinging your router while this is going on. If the response is fast then the problem is probably outside of your house.

You can also look at the logging in the router to see if anything strange is going on. In airport utility go to "Advanced" and click on "logs and statistics".

I've been having lots of small "outages" since the last APExtreme firmware update but have been blaming my ISP. When it happens I just reboot the AP and I'm good for awhile, maybe there's a firmware bug?
