Ive just got a new macbook pro because my old one has had evermore trouble. Nevertheless Id still like it to work, its still a decent machine when it works properly. I believe the superdrive or something related is causing all the trouble im currently having. The battery lasts max 1hr and the computer shuts down when it gets touched in the "wrong" way around the superdrive. Ive already replaced the drive, which caused the computer to shut down less frequently, but the problem is still there. If my hypothesis is correct. maybe all issues can be solved by just running the computer without a cd drive? Is this possible?

You should put some kind of "dummy" drive in there in order to keep the strength of the MacBook ;)

You don't need the Superdrive in there. The computer will just see it as an "Unused Port".
