can not put documents or other files to the trash can

    Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem

    i have had my mac for about 18months now and going ok had a few questions but always seem to get the answer's on this forum without posting a question :)

    but i am trying to clean up my mac (collected alot of junk over the last 18moths) and was running out of Disc space

    I was going fine but then came to a few file's that i can not delete
    I drag the said file/s to the trash bin but a window comes up asking for my password (i am admin too BTW) so i put my password in but it won't trash it, the computer does nothing with the file just leave's it where it is.

    I have started and saved everything from my own admin account, no one else's and some are just word doc's that i needed at the time. so i should have full access to said files so i should be able to delete these files.

    Has anyone else had this problem? if so how do i fix it..
