Can Photos import AVCHD video?

Based on the reviews it can handle MP4 (at least from an iOS device). I have a lot of home movies in AVCHD currently organized in Aperture and am wondering if Photos can handle them.

Hi,

I believe the answer is no, you need to convert them using Handbrake for example, or the soft provided by the (camcorder ?) manufacturer.

I assumed that would be the case. Too bad since Aperture finally got the ability to handle AVCHD natively.
