Can share the yosemite installer?

Hi Forum,

Our internet is really bad so can I share the installer (copy it via USB stick)? I "purchase" them on all the Macs in our house so that each Apple ID has the "Yosemite app" officially tied to it. But can I then just download it on one, and copy it over to the others?

But that is for clean installs right? I'd like to update all the mac by copying the installer from one of them.

also upgrade...it's nice to have laying around in case of harddrive failures etc.

Yes, AFAIK.

I own several Macs, none of which are using a common Apple ID. I DLed the Yosemite installer - then quit that app before the installation on one Mac as it will get deleted after the installation. I copied the app to an SSD I use, then installed Yosemite on my original Mac. I then used the copied Yosemite installer onto each of my compatible Macs and proceeded with the installation - it worked perfectly.
