I have an iPhone 4 so don't have Siri, was curious about Siri and math. ie. Siri what is the square root of 96?

Yes, it can.
It's actually pretty neat because it'll give you a decimal answer and an answer in simplest radical form. (9.797958971 and 4√6)

It can do much more advanced math than square roots if I remember correctly.

Siri will integrate with WolframAlpha for math questions. You can type a question into wolframalpha.com to see how Siri might answer it, e.g. "what is the exponential of 3"

I used to use wolfram alpha for super complicated math problems, so I know the power of it. It in itself, combined with SIRI, is an amazing tool.
