hey guys well heres the story i have an imac running 10.6.3 that will not boot up in normally i can only use it in safe mode when i try to just boot normally i get a error message saying i need to restart

i got the original 10.6.3 disc and i ran and installed everything worked good but it still will not load up unless its in safe mode so i got a copy of snow leopard 10.6.7 and i was going to install that but whenever i try i get a error message saying mac os x cant be installed on this computer

im stuck the 10.6.3 disc is not letting me boot normally and the 10.6.7 cant be installed

    heres my imac specs

    Hardware Overview:

    Model Name: iMac
    Model Identifier: iMac9,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 6 MB
    Memory: 4 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: IM91.008D.B08
    SMC Version (system): 1.36f3

is there a way i can do a fresh wipe before installing 10.6.3 maybe that will get it to startup normally

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys

Sounds like you may have a bad stick of ram. First, reseat the ram and see if that helps. If not, then take one bank out at a time and see if you can isolate which stick is bad.
