I would have thought this would be a useful way of using the watch when waterlock is on but it doesn't seem to work. Perhaps because the mics have water in them potentially?

Can I disable water lock from coming on automatically?

I’ve used hey siri with the water lock on, though I turn it on manually before I run to prevent accidental touches from my sweat. I’m guessing that your theory about the mics having water may be plausible. As far as disabling it, I’m not sure.

I'm still on the update prior to 10.0, but I just tried & it works for me.

I made several tries to make a call while swimming but no success. Maybe with the long press button emergency call? I once forgot to turn the water lock while swimming and very soon got a loud noise alert…
AW6 cellular, WatchOS 10.1

Siri works just fine with water lock on, Ultra 2.
I’m not aware of a way to turn water lock on automatically

Also, with Ultra submerging it in water will turn water lock automatically as long as depth app is configured to start when submerged.

I also have trouble using Siri when waterlock is on, for example. Siri doesn’t want to talk to me while swimming, which is annoying.

Probably because there's water in the mic/speaker. I don't think this really has anything to do with Water Lock itself.

All Water Lock does is disable the touch screen to prevent unintentional taps and ejects the water when turned off, so of course Siri is going to start working again when it's turned off because it just cleared out the mic and speaker.

Siri doesn't work for me either when I go swimming, whether I have Water Lock on or off. It'll start working once I get the water ejected.

I also control my watch via Siri when using water lock when I’m out running. Sweaty shirt sleeves will trigger the screen.

But I’m using AirPods as a conduit for Siri.
