thread typo FAIL: should be gold not 'good' haha

https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MQGJ2AM/A/usb-c-to-lightning-cable-1-m

1m for sure silver on site, on box silver for some 2018 copyright on mine I got from Best Buy, and chimes once to for sure fast charge on iPhone 8/8+/X but takes a couple seconds to initiate unlike 5w & iPad charger where it instantly chimes... and is for sure genuine because data works too over my USB-C MBP port.

(my Apple Store still has gold pin inventory 1m on the shelf that has 2018 copyright on box so it had to have changed this year, maybe when 30w came out in June?)

the 2m shows gold pin on site (choose 2m on drop down), even in person on shelf on the box (with 2017 copyright), the 2m I bought last year has gold pin just like it is now. on 12.9 fast charging, chimes once. that must just be the way iPad charges, not letting the user know. the 2m cable itself must not have been updated either..

but on X and 8/8+, chimes TWICE with gold pin 2m. from what I've googled thats what it does when fast charging.

in all instances, cables are real. in all instances, they fast charge. I've calculated it

why is there no knowledge base article about this given the different aesthetic but also charge chime characteristics?

Apple Store and AppleCare were both baffled and didn't know what to say.

good pick up.
i didn't realize there was a difference.

for what its worth, on my older USB-A - Lighting cables (both 2m and .5m) there are gold colour pins on both cables.
both of these cords have the iPhone chime once when plugged into it, on an iOS 11 iPhone 6s, using this non-fast charger connection. i have taken this chime always to simply indicate it is now charging, non-fast as it may be.

i have heard of wireless fast charging being confirmed by a double chime.

are you seemingly saying that when a silver colour USB-C - Lightening connector is used a single chime should be indicating a fast charge?
i have never heard of this claim before.

yep a single chime with silver, but delay of a couple seconds to chime after plugging in the cable.

unlike (presumably all and always gold pin) usb-a to lightning cables chiming as soon as you plug it in, be it 5w/10w/12w cubes
