I tried searching but I couldn't find an answer...

So my question is if I buy an iPhone 6 from a carrier store such as Verizon, and if there is a dead pixel, can I request a replacement from the Apple store, or do I have to request it from Verizon? I called Verizon and they said I will have to play a restocking fee for a replacement so I am trying to avoid that route.

I know Apple store replaces defective phones without a restocking fee.

I was also shot down by two Apple stores when I requested to buy a full priced Verizon iPhone 6. They stated that the phones must be activated with a new contract for some reason.

yes (Apple Store)

Great, thank you for your help! I will buy the phone from a carrier store and work with the Apple store if the phone has a defect.

They're trying to charge you restocking fee on a defective product?

That was what I was wondering and I was told that if the shrink wrap is opened, there is a restocking fee for a replacement whether the phone is defective or not. Maybe the representative didn't have a clue.

Also, I believe that the Apple Store is the only place to get a full price Verizon iPhone 6/6+.

I got my iPhone 6 from one on launch day.
