I cannot figure out for the life of me how to upload pics into a thread. It seems obvious enough, but it tells me my images are too big. I’m posting from an iPP (or my phone if I need to), so IDK what I can do to fix the problem.

Thank you!

I'm hoping someone has an answer. I've asked this before.

Sometimes my pictures upload just fine. Other times I get the "too large" notification. All my photos are taken on my iPhone.

On my phone where it says post reply/more options... there is a button that says upload a file, click it and select photos
[doublepost=1523543061][/doublepost]Also, I go into my photos and click edit and crop and down on the bottom right of it and I do them 2:3

You seem to have gotten the photos uploaded though...??

EDIT: It took me to a post on the thread, not the original thread. That's why my response doesn't make sense.

I can see where to do it from, and I have clicked that and uploaded my pictures - it just always tells me they are too big. I’m not sure if there’s a way to adjust the size if I’m uploading from my phone or iPad.

If you look at my post I told you how I make them the size that upload. Give that a try

There's a number of apps to help with this, but my favorite is the free - now owned by Apple - Workflow. There's a number of size reducing workflows that retain the original aspect ratio (unlike the crop method described above), and you can do some cool stuff like save the resized version to a specific album, etc.

Probably compression variation due to the image content (assuming everything else is equal) :)

Thanks for the tip. I have the app but have never used it.

For larger images I post from my Flickr account.

It's difficult when you never know what image will be too big. For example, I take two photos of my cats. One uploads to the forums without a problem. The other is rejected because it's too large.

It would be easier if the forums would just raise the restrictions.

I don’t know if this helps...I use an iPhone/iPad and sometimes pictures are too large.

Take a screenshot of the photo and retry uploading.
Within the Photos app: edit and crop it a tiny bit.

One of those two things (or both) has always resolved it for me.

That’s also what I do when I encounter this, and it generally works.

That's a great idea! (Screenshot) Thanks!

Sorry I'm late to the party... but this is a known issue with the forum software. It is related to the dimensions of the image and not the size in MB. If you just shrink down the size a bit using any of the methods mentioned in the thread, it will work.

Interesting. What I don't get is when I take an image with my iPhone, sometimes it will load, sometimes it won't. Surly the images are the same size?

No, even if the resolution is the same, the amount of compression that can be applied is different based on the image content. :)
