I have restored my iPad to factory settings and i have created a new apple id/icloud account (same address).

Everything works ok on icloud.com, icloud settings (iOS) BUT...

when i try to enable iMessage and Facetime i get a message that either my account username or password are wrong.

Now i had this problem with my old account and now i have it on a new device with a new account. My username and password info ARE NOT wrong.

Can someone tell me what to do?

    Thanks

If you have verified you can sign into appleid.apple.com with the username and password that is not working on your device, then your next step is to call Apple.
I saw someone with this same problem the other day and they posted that calling Apple resolved their issue.

How can you have a new Apple ID with the same email address?

Oh ok. So you did not make a new Apple ID, you just logged in with your old ID.

What does appleid.apple.com show as your verified email addresses?
I would also just reset the password while there.

i have an iphone that worked ok before ios6. now with the same account when i try to activate facetime and imessage i get a wrong username or password error while im sure both are right. I checked the id website and the email is verified.

after this i decided to restore my iPAD to factory settings and create a brand new apple id (store and icloud).

again when i try to activate those two i get the same error even though this is a new account and this also has the email verified...

Just so I am clear and understand, when you say create a brand new Apple ID, which is used on the app store, iTunes, and iCloud, you are logging in with your old ID or literally making a new one with a new email address and password? Because a couple of posts ago you said it was the same username.

    im sorry im confusing you.

to make things clear now i have 2 apple ids. my old one and a new one.

i can use both to login on icloud on the web and in ios icloud settings.

both give me a wrong username or password when i try to activate imessage and facetime. these are two seperate accounts. cant be a coincidence right?

I understand now. Hmm. You are right both should not fail at the same time with the same error message. Try signing out of iCloud on all devices, including any computers or laptops, iPhone and iPad. Reset the passwords to both at appleid.apple.com and wait 10 min or so and try signing in to everything.

Hmm, I have to ask, but you are entering a full email address as the username? The password is correct?
    The error message is specific.
By chance test if you can log into http://www.icloud.com with either ID.

Try Settings -> General -> Reset -> and Reset Network Settings. That has worked when some had trouble and it said waiting for activation. Perhaps it will work.

I'm not sure what else to try.
    There was an outage, http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/
but it says it was fixed. I don't know what else to suggest, other than maybe wait and see if it clears up on it's own.

Are your iCloud account and iTunes account the same login (email address)?

    1) Go here: http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/manage/
    2) Click on Sign in to manage your Apple ID
    3) Click on Manage your Apple ID
    4) Type in your Apple ID and Password and click Sign in
    5) Select Addresses from the left hand side
    6) Click Edit
    7) In country region type United Kingdom
    8) Click Save at the bottom of the page
    9) Go to your Apple Device Settings - General - International - Region Format - Select United Kingdom
    10) Press the Home button
    11) Log into Facetime and iMessage with your CORRECT APPLE ID AND PASSWORD

This should work for all of you guys. Hope it helps.
