i still say the Mac Pro is the way to go. it can do everything you ask of, and you can upgrade everything on it. if you get the 2.0 then you can get it for under $2000 with all the lowest stuff on it, which you could upgrade later. you can't put 4 hard drives or 4 video cards in an imac

first of all thanks to everyone who's helping me on this. so for the imac, will a current one not be able to run vista? and also with the imac if i get it can i replace the parts? like jsut put in a new graphics card or even a new processor, beacuse these are the things i can do with a new pc, but if i can do these things then i would probably go for the imac.

Yes, the iMac with Core 2 Duo should be able to run Vista (whenever M$ finally releases it ) just fine.

The CPU, RAM, HDD, optical drive, and GPU (on the 24" iMac) are all replaceable in the iMac.
