Can someone recommend dvd burn software to copy dvds onto my harddrive?

If you meant video DVDs:

MRoogle

MacTheRipper, FairMount and RipIt for copying, Handbrake (+ VLC if you haven't ripped it) for encoding.

If you meant data DVDs: Finder.

If you want a burn application: Burn or Toast Titanium.

To copy DVD's to hard drive, I would use HandBrake.
