a jailbreak and unlock for 0.S 3.1.2 tryed searching but no luck

my iphone is currantly jailbroke and unlocked on 3.0.1 and i think its about time i updated 🙂

couple of questions. will i lose all my apps ive downloaded? and all my contacts etc?

Backup your apps and contacts thru iTunes.

We need to know what kind of phone you have to give you more info (2G, 3G, 3GS)
 
found this one. using blackrain but i have to already be on 3.1.2 to jailbrake. am i right in saying that i can download 3.1.2 then go into itunes and hold the shift key then restore to 3.1.2? do i have to have a certain version of itunes to do that? and will it put me on the right baseband of 05.11.07? mine is currently on 04.26.08

You should keep your 04.26.08 baseband for ultrasnow. Its a better unlock than blacksnow.
You should create a custom 3.1.2 IPSW with pwnage tool preserving your 04.26.08 and then install ultrasnow thru cydia.
 
No, pwnage is only for macs.
See if you can use someones mac to create the custom ipsw cause there's no windows tool that would accomplish the same.

anyone thinking about jailbreaking and unlocking to 3.1.2 stay WELL CLEAR of this tutorial. was up till 5am this morning trying to jb+unlock (started at 10pm 😱)

it came up with many errors. did think id bricked my phone at one point. had to use another programme with it called ireb which it dosnt tell you about in the tutorial. when i finally did manage to get the jb to work cydia would not load up! so it was a complete waste of time.

i then restored to the original apple 3.1.2 and followed this tutorial http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=7443 which took next to no time atall to jb+unlock. so after 6 hours of effing around with sn0wbreeze i managed to get it done in the end in bout 20mins with redsn0w.

true. just glad i managed to get it done in the end. was pulling my hair out last night and almost went through a 20 deck of ciggies 🙁
