Can,t eject Thunderbolt drive it says it is used by something else ,it is not.:(
It is connected to my Thunderbolt Dock.

If you want to be extra safe, go to the apple menu and select “‘shut down.” When the computer is shut down, you can safely unplug the drive.

There are a lot of things that can be using a drive. Applications, of course, but Spotlight, Time Machine can tie it up creating indexes.

If you start a terminal session, cd /Volumes, do an ls to see what is there, then fuser "Volume Name" it will give you the process name which can look up in Activity Monitor.

But as above, simple way is to shutdown and then disconnect the drive.

I did see this video and it said what you said ,i never have the problem with non thunderbolt drives.

This is a generic issues with any locally mounted drives - USB, Firewire, Thunderbolt, whatever. There can be issues with a dock or disk enclosures' thunderbolt implementation.
