No ideas why but keep it on! If someone robs your Watch they can do what they please with it. With a passcode, once it's taken off your wrist, it locks itself.

Probably because you're using Apple Pay on the watch.

Yes, but so does my mate and he wasn’t forced to set a passcode.

No but his work requires a complex passcode and his iPhone needs it every time it turns on, yet he doesn’t need one for his watch and I do 🙁

Are you able to change passcode? Maybe disable unlock with iphone in the settings on the watch and than try disabling passcode? Do you have the watch on your wrists at this moment and unlocked?

All I can do is change the passcode.

I'm stumped then. Hope you find a solution! Maybe worth disabling work email anyway, but good luck!!
