Can the 13" i5 handle gaming?

So sorry I'm new around this sight and this question may have already been asked, but can the mac book pro 13-inch: 2.3 GHz i5 the (baseline model) Handle games like civilization and star craft 2 (and work online with out lagging a ton) with out upgrades. My parents are thinking of buying me one for school and of coarse they think the cheepest moddle will fit all my needs just fine. 🙁

If you're looking to game, I'd consider PC instead. The i5 can run those games, just not at higher settings.

Im not looking of solely a gaming computer. I was just hoping that it would be able to handle a few games periodicly. Im not worried about the highest settings I was just hoping it would work.

StarCraft II can be played at medium settings without any lags/hiccups.
