I have a friend (who's never had a Mac) that said when I told him I'd bought a 17" PowerBook, "why would you want something that huge?" He was shocked to find out once he saw it that it weighs less and is smaller proportionally in every way (except for the width) than the 15" PC notebook he carries around. :p I still laugh when I hear people say that the 17" is too big when it's only 1 pound heavier and 1.5 inch wider than the 15" PB.

But to us of those that are only packing 12" the thing seems huge!! I still secretly covet one though... :p

Yeah, I have a 12", but if you're going to go larger for more screen real-estate, you may as well go nuts and get the 17" if the cost difference isn't much. Its really not THAT much bigger than the 15".

I liked the tiBooks best. But then again after looking at some 15 Aluminum's that might change. I am positive that there will be a major cosmetic change for the powerbook g4 duel or g5. But remember if you look at apples marketing points the brag about the rounded edges lack of doors to break of and other things like that. The reason they give for these is safety and practicality. Things I am sure we will see in the next revision.

that looks pretty lame unless you are going to use it as a desktop. Otherwise, it has too many hinges and unnecessary positions for portability. The G4 is simple and this new design complicates it. Plus, by the looks of it, it will be much thicker than the current 1 inchers. I guess this gives mac room for upgrading in the years to come. They wont give it all to us in one shot even though they certainly can. But then nobody will want to upgrade with only minor adjustments.

If the LCD folded into the size of the keyboard ,that would be sweet though . Plus, a touch screen LCD would add a nice touch or a greasy one. ;)
