Can the G4 handle OS 10.4?

I have a G4 and G5..however, I'd like to load a program onto my G4 that requires OS 10.4....I have 10.3 on the G4....Can I load 10.4 on the G4?

And if I can load 10.4 operating system to the G4..what will happen to my information on the G4?

The G4's work just fine with Tiger - assuming you have a tiger retail disc.

Assuming the upgrade install or the archive and install goes smoothly, nothing should happen. I would backup your data first though.

Tiger runs well on my 800Mhz G3 iBook, so you'll have no problems with your G4. If you're worried about your data, just do an "Archive and Install".

Tiger runs nicely on my 733MHz G4 Quicksilver. I have 1.12GB RAM in there, which helps.

10.4 will run perfectly fine on your G4, just make sure that you back up your data so you are safe if something goes wrong in the upgrade.
