Can the GMA 950 graphics processor be upgraded?

I'm sure it can be done with some hacking, but Apple probably blocked it out. My intel GMA 915 card on my gateway laptop can go up to 224 mb too, but gateway only allowed up to 128 mb. I have no idea how to change it.

Either way, the graphics card still sucks for any kind of games or even some video work (correct me if im wrong on the video work)

Why would you want to upgrade the amount of memory?

I have a dell laptop with the same GMA 950 and if I push the memory I actually see a overall decrease in performance. Most macbook users will work in non-3d apps, there is no reason having a ton of video memory and more importantly the memory will be taken away from mac os x, something you dont want to do, OS X loves its memory.

I would like to be able to run Final Cut Express and I am concerned it will not work with the integrated graphics card.

I would asume that the macbook is compatible with FC express, the requirements dont say that there is a certain amount on graphics memory needed, only think that I would worry about would be main system memory. FC Express does require a quartz extreme graphics card, while the GMA950 is explicily on the list of supported graphics cards I would asume that seeing as a GF 2MX is there that you should be fine.

It'll work fine. You'll want to upgrade your RAM to as much as you can afford, but video memory will be managed dynamically by OS X. Your video editing is going to be affected by your CPU and RAM, along with your hard drive...contrary to what might make sense.
