can the iPhone 5 really run this?

seriously Apple, yeah some animations have gotten faster, but try opening up iMessage then turning the phone sideways on landscape, see that lag/stuttering? Steve would've roll on his grave if he'd seen that...

I know this is beta 5 but with one more beta to go, it doesn't seem like it'll be smooth fast as the way it looks/runs now.

it's actually completely smooth for me. A tad delayed, but there's no stuttering.

well maybe you have a very special iPhone 5 with a faster clock speed or something

I have absolutely no stutter with my iPhone 5 or my iPad 2. So its obviously your device because the iPad 2 is noticeably slower than an iPhone 5 overall.
 
Some people should really start to understand that iOS 7 IS IN BETA. IT IS A FREAKING BETA, STOP WHINING AND CRYING PLEASE.

A lot of things will change and improvements will be made.

And apple make betas for developers, not for 12 year-old kids, consider yourself lucky to get your hands on it.

lag free for my 4S too, obviously that extra line of icons is sucking up all the CPU! :p

Beta 5 runs 100% smooth on my iPhone 5!There's no lag when turning the phone sideways in Messages!
 
Smooth on my test device - and like the poster above. Dude this is BETA software and thus, there will be performance and bug issues throughout the OS. Most of this will be polished up though. I meant just look at BETA 1 Vs Beta 5. It has come along way and is looking so much better now.

It's not set in stone there is one more beta to go...unless you know something everyone else doesn't. Just wait and see - what else can you do?
 
TBH b5 is VERY stuttery on my iPad 4. Not on my iPhone 5 though - that is super smooth.
 
Who knew that a beta would actually run like a beta?!
 
For example in many kinds of lists: bookmarks in Safari, info panels in Maps... The pinch to home gesture. Pop-overs are kind of not smooth.

Sorry man, but it appears you have a special iPhone with a slow clock speed. Running pretty smooth here on my iPhone (like many others have said above)

I would try to clean install the iOS or something if I was you.
 
Do you mean in iMessage when you can see all of the messages or in a particular message? Either way mine is smooth. I turn my phone, very slight pause then smooth transition to the 90 degree flip. Maybe it is the pause you are talking about? It's there but it is insignificant.
 
It's always like this. I remember the beta of ios 6 being a tad slow on the 4s then the new iPhone comes out everything is super fast again.

First thing - IT'S STILL A BETA!

Second - Its smooth on my 4S.

Try a clean install.
