seriously Apple, yeah some animations have gotten faster, but try opening up iMessage then turning the phone sideways on landscape, see that lag/stuttering? Steve would've roll on his grave if he'd seen that...

I know this is beta 5 but with one more beta to go, it doesn't seem like it'll be smooth fast as the way it looks/runs now.

Buttery smooth for me, consistently.

And, there is no solid evidence that there is only one more beta to go. Even if there was, if there were major issues, Apple would push another beta. There's been massive improvements in each beta.

Are you an Apple employee? How do you know this insider information?

BGR said Apple would release 6 Betas, and so far they've been pretty accurate when they claim release dates for each.

it turns out if you restart the phone the stuttering on iMessage leaves but it does happen from time to time, and it also happens when you use the search function it might only happen once then it gets smooth, but it ALWAYS needs to be smooth...

people with no important info or geeks with way too many time do clean installs, I'm just a regular geek with dev spot, I might not ever do that, maybe I'll restore to factory with my backup once the full version is out. can't afford to loose my pictures, texts and stuff

There's this crazy thing called a "back-up" that let's you keep all your stuff and put it back on the phone...:p

If you can't afford to do a clean install right now then this complaint shouldn't be made. if the problem persist with a clean install then its a beta 5 issue...

a clean install is not really a clean install once you use your backup as it carries bugs and files to a new install.

what you mean is just a simple restore, which sometimes works others times don't, I might do that once the full version is avaliable

Bugs?

Restore for the most part simply pulls static data from your phone like contacts, pictures, etc.

Yes, there may be some app specific stuff that could cause issues on a beta, but I choose to risk that so I can use my phone as a daily driver.

I still think adding the data back in as a restore after a full wipe is better than trying to change out the OS with the data in place.

Aren't beta versions full of extra scripts which track and record everything so Apple can accurately review and analyse issues... surely that can cause some lag?

The only problem I have is that when turning it landscape a small black bar appears where the text input is for a brief second.. other than that buttery smooth sorry OP

Two iPhones, both a 5. No lag or stuttering when doing what you said with iMessage. Nope they aren't special. They are the same spec as yours.

Whoa. dude. Chill out you're like the only one with this problem. And yes, this:

Steve is rolling in his grave about how many people keep saying "Steve would be rolling in his grave".
