Can the iPhone SDK's "iPhone Simulator" be used to run apps from the App store

    Why would you want to?

    The apps are made to take advantage of the touch / tilt features of the iPhone you can probably find the same apps for your Mac which do the same thing equally, if not better.

    No, it's not possible. Iphone application which are made for the simulator are compiled for intel processors and apps for the Iphone device are compiled for arm processors. So if you bought the app from itunes then also you cannot run it on your simulator.
