Can they back up data at genius bar appointment?

I don't have an external hdd or even dvd's to back up data on. So will they do this for me or no?

They charged me $50 to back up my data before sending my ibook off for repair. This was about 6 months ago, if that helps.

Hmm, so if it was a screen was needing replacing they would most likely charge a back up and send it to repair or would they simply replace it then?

The screen has no affect on the hard drive. The most they would do would be to swap the drive on a new machine. Outside of removing the drive during repair, they do not touch it.

😀 So they would simply do it at the apple store then.

Yeah, the hdd has no affect on the screen but they do say backing up data
