is there a way i can remove the slider, and just have nothing there. but still swipe that 'area'?

i dont want anything that needs winterboard either, not going to install it.

look into move2unlock or styleunlock (I think that's what it's called)

Or, you can replace the graphic files with transparent PNGs directly using iFile or SSH.
