Hello, I am new here and love this forum. I found an iPod touch on a local website for sale ($40) and want to know if you all think it can be fixed and if so, how much do you think it'll be? Here is the description......

**Broken, will not turn on. It has a small crack in the bottom corner of the screen that isn't in the screen view but worked like that for a long time. It was my daughters and I think there are over 100 songs on it. The charger has been lost but I used another charger and I am sure it won't just need charged. I have been told the battery may be shot. **

Thanks.

Why not just buy a refurb iPod Touch?
You don't even specify if it's a 1G,2G,3G or 4G, which makes a big difference. It would be far safer to put the money towards a new or refurb.

I agree with old-wiz.

Spend the extra money to pick up a refurb from Apple. Reliability and warranties are very important, and you'll know the quality of the product you're getting..as opposed to buying an iPod that currently doesn't work and whose functional future is uncertain.
