Does anyone actually use them, or just click OK to get the javascript window out of your way?

I think people have a habit of clicking that okay for fear that the cancel will not send the message... I always click cancel to prevent a request for a read receipt and I rarely send read receipts to people because I figure that don't know any better...

yea, what are read receipts? The only ones I know of are the ones from email when someone sends you one.

When you send a PM private message it asks for read receipt OK or Cancel 😉

It would certainly be handled better with a "request receipt?" checkbox above the Send button, rather than a javascript alert, but I don't know if that's possible with this software. I never use them, and usually cancel them, i find it discourteous to make the recipient click through an extra alert to read my message.

At times I do and at times I don't, other then that I don't know what else to say. 🙂

If its important then Yes, if not then No. 🙂

I use them - they are helpful with marketplace transactions to know if someone is ignoring you or has actually not seen your PM.

The box is annoying, but I just hit cancel. This feature is setup and configured on most boards using this software.

The popup box doesn't bother me at all. I always check yes on the read receipts. Not all do, because I have message listing saying that there are so many without receipts.

I don't mind the read receipts, what really annoys me about the PMs is you can only Quote or Forward... you can't just Reply! Gets really tedious after a message has been going back and forth for awhile.
