Since iPhone X, despite of millions of consumers' complaints globally while some are even unaware of the damage to their eyes caused by Apple's OLED technology, Apple continue to change all product lines to OLED since iPhone 11.

The worst is all other players are closely following Apple's move, changing from LCD to OLED gradually too, mobile, pad or TV...

There are many good ways of protecting and saving millions and millions of eyes existing today: such as 1) keep one LCD line at least 2) provide additional anti-flicker and reducing eye strains option 3) providing >1000 Hz OLED tech etc. However, to reap more profit and drive stock price with bigger sales, Apple never consider any of the healthy alternative solutions.

We are a group of citizens and users who have been suffered by Apple's OLED screen for years, and our children will have the similar damage sooner or later as Apple is driving this tech trend globally. We should stand up instead of hiding, voice out instead of being silent lamb, take legal action instead of paying our money for damaging our eyes and our children's health year on year.

I know this may sound crazy, but I just feel we can not do nothing...and we should not be left behind.

How is this Apples fault? Samsung makes the displays, and has had TVs for years with OLED. So have other manufactures. OLED is the way it is, and most people can view it fine. That is why there are options. Don't buy a OLED iPhone then. Get the SE.

Hard to believe you’re serious.

no.

You don't sound crazy at all buddy – hang in there!

I'm in the same boat with you. What I'm personally concerned about is what I call eye-strain by proxy. By this I mean that it's not necessarily just the holder of the phone that gets eye-strain but also anybody who happens to take a look at it. I've experienced this first hand when looking at my cousins phone while she's sitting next to me. Secondly, I'm concerned about the time it seems to take for the eye-strain to settle down. With me it could take anywhere between an hour to up to full day to my vision to get back to normal.

Since your first post last year, all but one about this topic. Im not going to dismiss your problem, but I question your $motivation$ Actually Samsung has driven OLED, though if I remember Apple does something different in PWM.

Your post takes entitlement to a whole new level. For once, just take responsibility for your own actions.

If you have an iPhone with an OLED screen then you ain’t that bothered about it. And if you don’t have an iPhone with an OLED screen then why are you even concerned? Which one is it?

Because I'm happy with every iPhone since 2008, until OLED came out for iPhone 11 Pro! Because I'm a loyal iPhone user for decades!

Loyal iPhone user for decades

where were you when I bought my first iPhone 14 years ago

decades would imply over checks notes 20 years

so when Samsung moved to curved displays and some folks didn’t like it did the sue because they’d been buying Samsung Galaxy phones “for decades” and didn’t like their design decision? You can certainly provide feedback that you want an LCD option but suing a company that is in no way forcing you to but their products because you don’t like said products…good luck homie

My empathy is with you. My pwm sensitivity was so severe with my XS Max that I got a massive seizure migraine that messed up my speech like a stroke and took over a month to recover from. However, vision encompasses both the eyes and the brain. Every eye exam I have had annually with a very highly recommended and fully certified ophthalmologist has revealed my eyes to be perfectly healthy. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any credible studies proving physical eye damage is occurring as a result of pwm. So that would make it difficult for you to pursue a lawsuit.

Everyone’s struggle with pwm sensitivity goes a little bit differently. When I first got my 12 mini I could barely look at it without my eyes watering. I got it for very quick on the go use, knowing I wouldn’t be doing much looking at it. But now I read on it and watch videos. I don’t know how or why, but I adjusted somehow. There always were certain OLED displays I could use.

I wish you luck on finding a device you can use comfortably. I am sorry for all you’re going through as I know firsthand how miserable and frustrating it is. Perhaps a neurologist will be able to help you. The ophthalmologists deal with the actual eye and this is a nervous system issue at its source. Mine was tied in to my migraine condition, which has eased up considerably the further away I have gotten from menopause, which was when it was at its worst.
