Anyone with app recommendations for streaming radio without having a phone nearby for cellular watches?

To bad tunein or SiriusXM isn’t supported in this manner.

This wouldn’t apply to the vast majority of people. I think most usually have their phones with them most of the time. I go running with just my watch, and I like listening to radio on the go.

The Radio app on the watch is the only option. WHich is tied back to the Apple music app as stated above. You can create your own artist stations and/or listen to a radio station in any genre.

Other than Apple Music, there aren't a lot of other apps out there that support cellular streaming. Pandora maybe. I hope there will be more soon, I want to stream Spotify when I'm out without my phone.

You guys helped - if I say hey Siri play radio talk 1010 for example, it plays the station I want through the radio/music app.

I’d prefer to see tunein work, but this does the trick.

Thanks

That feature is so cool.

I just tried "Play KNX 1070" and soon was listening to beach conditions near where I grew up, hundreds of miles away. Tried it with my phone turned off, too-- works great with my cellular S5. I'm sure battery life will take a hit, but it's nice to know it's available.

I've been using Pandora on my Apple Watch streaming cellular without a phone nearby on bike rides. Only have a free Pandora account too

Pandora was working on mine free account but no more. Last update seemed to kill it. It loads and then closes. Works with phone nearby but no more streaming. Haven’t had time to fuss with it and hope to get it going again, like their playlists

I used it yesterday without the phone nearby without a hitch

It's like waiting for a bus...

Within days we now have 2 options for radio streaming on the Cellular watch, both able to stream BBC Radio here in the UK.

Streamlets - A Radio Streaming Watch App

Broadcasts
Have been so keen for an app that would allow me to play BBC Radio (Not available on TuneIn) that I bought both of these today and so far recommend them both although Broadcasts is more professional looking and functional and works across WatchOs, iOS, MAcOS and iPADOS.

Now I have even more reasons to leave my phone behind and go with just my watch, or with my watch and iPad/Mac
