Can you add a backup file to an existing iPhone?

Around September 1, 2016 just weeks prior to the release of the iPhone 7, I sold my iPhone 6 and purposefully downgraded to an old iPhone 4 I had sitting in the closet. My intentions were to use the iPhone 4 for a few weeks and then buy the iPhone 7 when it came out. Well, after being lazy for a while a few weeks became a few months, and yes. Finally, I have the new iPhone 7.

Here is my dilemma. I made a backup file of my old iPhone 6 on Sep 1, 2016. The bad news is that I used the iPhone 4 for September through December without putting any contacts or backup file on it. Today, I can restore to the new iPhone 7 everything that was on the iPhone 6 backup file saved on Sep 1, 2016. My question is... After restoring the Sep 1, 2016 backup file to the new iPhone, how can I add another backup file from Sep through Dec to my new iPhone 7???

Basically, in a nutshell I have the new iPhone 7. I need to...
1) Restore an iPhone 6 backup file that was made on Sep 1, 2016
2) Add an iPhone 4 backup file for everything from Sep - Dec 2016.

IS THIS POSSIBLE???

Oh no! This is terrible. There must be some way to save my data. How about it I can just save the text messages from the last few months? So, here is my new strategy. Can someone help me?

1) I can restore from a Sep 1, 2016 backup everything onto my new iPhone 7.
2) now, I just want to save and add the text messages from the temporary iPhone I was using for the last few months all of the text messages from Sep-Dec 2016 onto my new iPhone 7.

Please. There must be somebody out there that knows of some hack or not commonly used method to do this.

There are apps that extract that info from your backup file. Mac or PC?
