iPhone 11 Pro Can you add AppleCare+ after?

I have AppleCare but want to add theft and loss. Is it possible to just add that? I tried to add it via the chat function from the Apple store app and they couldn’t saying it’d delete my order. I’m at the store now just wondering what I can do.

The in-store rep told me I could upgrade it within 60 days of purchase.

i added AppleCare after the fact once and I just had to bring it to the store presumably to confirm it wasn't damaged already. I think you have 30 days or so to add it after purchasing a device.

Within 60 days and you can do it over the phone. They remotely run a diagnostic on your phone.
