Can you back up different drives to one destination drive with Tim Machine? Example:

Drive 1 = System & Apps, Music
Drive 2 = Documents and Work Files

I'd like to back up both of them to Drive 3, my Time Machine drive. Does Time Machine create two distinct backups on Drive 3? One for Drive 1 and another for Drive 2?

The combined data of Drive 1 and 2, as of now, is smaller than the capacity of Drive 3.

thanks

I do something like this

I have a boot disk and a media disk that are both backed up to time machine.

The way I did it, I put my iPhoto library (actually my entire pictures folder) on the media disk along with my huge iTunes library. Time Machine treats them exactly as if they were on the boot disk and backs them up no problem.

I actually have a third internal drive for temporary storage that would be backed up too if I hadn't explicitly turned it off.
