Curious if anyone know if you can boot from the Time Machine backup? Technically it can since it backs up the whole drive the first time you use it.

I am trying to figure out whether I would need SuperDuper or CarbonCopy to clone my leopard drive for a bootable backup in ADDITION to the Time Machine backup?

No, Time Machine does not create a bootable backup.

No it doesn't. But if you needed to restore your system. When you put in your Leopard DVD it will ask you if you want to "Restore from Time Machine";)
