Only way you cannot go in the store is if you have a CRU account that is handled by a business rep. Otherwise you can go in the store with a IRU account...

This would be my first time joining AT&T. I'd be a new customer signing a 2 year contract.

If AT&T has an agreement with your employer, then you'd be getting Premier; otherwise, you won't. That is how it works.

yes, they do. But if I go into an AT&T store, and IM a new customer, how do they know if i qualify?

To get Premier, you first sign up with AT&T, then call or do it online. You will be asked a work email address or some sort of confirmation for the process to proceed. In my case, it was my work email.

If this is your first time, I'd recommend going to an official AT&T store or AT&T authorized dealer. I did the latter and got the discount without any problems. I didn't have to show any proof.

You could also sign up for any AT&T plan and then call at&t or do it online, but you might have to fight a little to get activation fees reimbursed.

You can also get the discount immediately after -I've done that in time for first bill. You get the info and update your account information is (or was included)

I did this last year at an AT&T store. They asked for my wife's work ID, then they searched for the FAN to figure out the discount.
