Can you disable right swipe Notification Center?

I find it annoying that when I swipe right (or swipe right quickly to get to my first home page) the Notification Center appears. It seems redundant, since I can access this by swiping down from the top. I'm not sure what Apple's reasoning is.

Is there anyway to disable this and all the associated widgets while still keeping them when swiping down from the top? Thanks.

It's not the Notification Center that appears by the Today screen with widgets. You can disable access to it from the lock screen, but that's about it.

Thanks, C DM. Yes, I meant the Today screen. My bad. I'm not sure why Apple forces that on us, when it can be easily accessed with a top to bottom swipe (and then right swipe). It can be annoying when I want to quickly get to my "first" page of apps.

It's there to basically be more accessible from more places to make it more convenient and discoverable for people. There have been some already commenting how they are now actually using widgets as they are now more convenient for them. So it is better for some and perhaps worse for others.

Realistically that page to the left of the home screen has been there for a while now, just without the widgets, so it being there isn't new in any way really. As far as acceding first page of apps, that can also be done by pressing the home button in case that might be of some use.

I posted the same question a few days ago. Seems like you formulated the question in a better way.

Hope Apple put an option to disable it. Now it's harder to access our "first apps" like you said.

How is it harder? There has been a screen to the left for years now, and touching the home button always goes to the first page.

For what I can remember (what a ****** memory of mine) you could disable that extra spotlight page. IF I wanted to access Spotlight, I would swipe down. Great.

Otherwise, I would simply swipe left and right to access my apps. I could instantly recognise one page from another to find the app Im looking for. If it wasn't in one page, I would swipe to the other side. Now I have three pages. The implementation is worser than it looks.

Pressing the home button is counter productive when your thumb is already in the screen.

When unlocked the spotlight page to the left of the home screen has been there for some time now, without controls to disable it.
