Can you do aftermarket ram with RMBP? I saw that you can buy the ram for RMBP in macsales.com but I just read an article that says the ram is soldered on the board. What gives?
 
You cannot upgrade the RAM in the Retina Macbook Pro. You have to order it with what you want it to have.

The only possible way to upgrade the RAM later on would be to replace the entire logic board.

The RAM is the two even rows of chips in the center.

The RAM is soldered, so it can't be upgraded. The RAM on the OWC site is for the non-retina MBPs.

There are no aftermarket options for RAM on the retina MBP. The RAM cannot be upgraded.
