The reason I ask is because the last time I was in an apple store I asked an employee there if I could get financing to buy an iPad and she said I had to go home and apply on the website and then come back in with the info. Which I thought was rather odd.
I may just run to the store on Tuesday for a new iMac if they don't have any BTO options I want.

Apple financing in the US is done through Barclay Visa. You can sign up in store on any of the demo computers, and the last page, there's a barcode you have to print out and use that day.

If you apply from home, you have to wait until they mail the physical Visa card to you.

    Yes

    Here’s how it works.
    1. Apply for the card.
Click an Apply Now button, call 1-800-MY-APPLE, or visit an Apple Retail Store. Decisions can take as little as 30 seconds. In some cases, applications may take longer to process.

    This is from apple's site.
